Nagpur School Holiday 2026: Keeping in mind the prevailing weather conditions and heavy rainfall, all schools, educational institutions, and coaching centres will remain closed on July 29 across Nagpur city and district. The Nagpur district administration has released an official notice detailing the IMD alerts for extreme rainfall and the subsequent effects that may be caused. Ensuring students’ safety, the authorities have closed schools and requested them to stay indoors and remain vigilant about the advisories.
IMD Alerts For Extremely Heavy Rainfall
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Nagpur between July 28 to 30, 2026. For students’ safety, the District Collector and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Kumar Ashirwad, has issued an official notice detailing the closure of schools on July 29. Waterlogging has been the major concern. With 108 mm of rainfall already recorded within a few hours, many areas in the city have been experiencing this problem, causing hindrance to livelihood.
Educational Institutions Closed in These Areas
All government and private e anganwadis, primary and secondary schools, colleges, and coaching institutes in Nagpur city alongside Nagpur Rural, Hingna, Kamptee, and other areas under the Nagpur district, including the Nagpur Municipal Corporation limits, have been closed on July 29, 2026. As per IMD alerts, extremely heavy rainfall is predicted, causing possible waterlogging, disrupt traffics, and other emergencies. To avoid inconvenience to students and ensure their safety, the administration has decided to suspend classes tomorrow.
Students Must Take Safety Precautions
Students and parents are advised to stay indoors and closely monitor official meteorological updates. Refrain from going outside unless necessary. In case you get stuck in the rainfall, seek shelter in a sturdy, elevated building rather than under trees. Keep necessary supplies handy. Remain in constant contact with your respective schools for any new updates.
