CBSE Re-Evaluation 2026 Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has successfully concluded the application window for the Class 12 post-result verification and answers re-evaluation process. Active from June 2 to June 7, 2026, the online system recorded an immense response from across the country. Official data indicates that more than 1.6 lakh students submitted formal requests to get over 3.8 lakh answer booklets re-checked by the board's expert evaluation panels.
However, immediately after submitting their details, a significant number of anxious students and their parents encountered an unexpected system block. The online application portal rejected their attempts, displaying a rigid "Roll Number Not Found" alert. This error message sparked widespread confusion and stress among families, prompting the central board to issue an immediate official clarification to explain the technical eligibility criteria behind the system's automated responses.
Why Does the 'Roll Number Not Found' Message Appear?
According to the official clarification issued by CBSE, the system rejects application forms and shows the "Roll Number Not Found" message when a candidate fails to clear the first mandatory phase of the post-result process. The board highlights that the re-evaluation pipeline is strictly multi-tiered. Only those candidates who had successfully applied to obtain scanned copies of their digital answer books during the preceding verification window are eligible to unlock the final re-evaluation stage. Students who skipped the photocopy stage cannot access the system.
Will the Re-evaluated Marks Be Considered Final?
The board explicitly reminds all applicants that the marks obtained through this final re-evaluation process will be treated as absolute and unchangeable. Once the answers undergo a secondary assessment by senior examiners, the newly computed score will replace the old performance metrics completely. This rule applies uniformly whether the student's total marks increase or decrease after the re-check.
Students must accept the revised score as their permanent academic record for the 2026 session.
How Can Students Obtain Their Corrected Marksheets?
Once the expert evaluation panels finalize the re-checking process, the database will update the student profiles automatically. CBSE will print and issue fresh, amended marksheets for all candidates whose scores change during this verification cycle.
While the initial digital confirmation will reflect on the online portals, students must visit their respective schools physically to collect their official, hard-copy corrected certificates once they are dispatched.

What Are the Core Metrics of CBSE Re-evaluation 2026?
The massive scale of this year's post-result grievance drive highlights the extensive use of the board's digital services. Managed securely under the supervision of government technical agencies and elite IIT task forces, the platform safely logged hundreds of thousands of individual requests.
The board's active helpdesks remain open to guide eligible private and regular candidates through the remaining tracking phases until final grades are updated.
