CBSE Marksheet Issues: The Supreme Court of India has agreed to examine a critical petition filed on behalf of an overseas Indian student residing in Saudi Arabia who is seeking immediate directions for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to declare his Class 12 improvement examination results. A vacation bench comprising Justice Manmohan and Justice Vijay Bishnoi officially issued a legal notice to the central board and its respective regional officer on Monday.
Expressing deep concern over the administrative delay, the apex court bench orally remarked, "This is about the career of a child, he will miss all his admissions... Whatever it is, burn the midnight oil." The top court has directly ordered the legal counsel representing CBSE to seek clear instructions and resolve the matter quickly before admission cycles close.

Impact of Middle East Exam Cancellations on Students
The legal dispute stems from a plea filed by candidate Pransu Jigarkumar Patel, who is challenging CBSE's failure to publish his scores despite an established assessment scheme designed for students located across several Gulf nations. The board had previously cancelled the Class 12 physical board examinations in seven Middle Eastern countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, due to escalating regional tensions surrounding the Iran-Israel-US conflict.
Jeopardized Higher Education Prospects for Private Candidates
According to the petition, Patel appeared as a verified private candidate for the CBSE Class 12 improvement examination 2026 from an exam center in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, tackling core subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Computer Science. The plea contends that the prolonged non-declaration of his final scores has heavily jeopardized his higher education prospects. It leaves him unable to secure engineering seats or apply for undergraduate courses because his official board credentials remain blocked.

Unanswered Institutional Representations and Court Appeal
The aggrieved student's family stated that they made multiple formal attempts to contact the board administration before taking legal action. The petition reveals that Patel sent detailed written representations directly to the CBSE headquarters on May 17, May 21, and May 30, 2026, requesting a swift correction and publication of his scorecard.
Because these official communications went completely unanswered, the student had to approach the Supreme Court to prevent missing out on the ongoing national university admissions.
