The Delhi government has announced special traffic arrangements on February 18, Wednesday, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, in view of AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam and other venues, officials said. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel, avoid affected routes, and follow directions from traffic personnel on duty.

Alternate routes suggested include San Martin Marg, Panchsheel Marg, APJ Abdul Kalam Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Lodhi Road, South Avenue Road, Vandematram Marg, Barapullah Road, Ring Road, Tilak Marg, Ferozshah Road, Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg, and K Kamraj Marg. Authorities urged motorists to cooperate, maintain lane discipline, avoid unnecessary halts, and allow extra travel time.

On the same day, the Research Symposium on “AI and Its Impact” will take place at Bharat Mandapam, with IIIT Hyderabad as the knowledge partner. The symposium has received around 250 research submissions from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, showcasing strong participation from the Global South. Key attendees include HE Alar Karis, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada.

The event will feature plenary sessions, international research presentations, and poster showcases on topics such as AI-driven scientific discovery, safety and governance frameworks, equitable access to computing infrastructure, and collaborative research across the Global South.

Additionally, the “AI by HER: Global Impact Challenge” will be held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan to promote women-led AI innovations. Selected solutions addressing large-scale public challenges will be showcased at the event, with awards up to Rs 2.5 crore.

The day will also include keynote addresses, panel discussions, and roundtable meetings across Bharat Mandapam, Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, and Ambedkar Bhawan, culminating in a summit dinner at the Convention Centre, New Delhi.
