The government of Delhi is set to begin the trial run for its proposed WhatsApp governance project as authorities move towards expanding faceless and technology-driven delivery of public services.

"The project is in the final stages, and a trial run is likely around next month. Also, some concessionaires have been empanelled through bidding to run the project," a senior government officer told news agency PTI.

How Will The Platform Work?
The system will deploy AI-enabled chatbots and the WhatsApp dynamic flow technology to facilitate service requests, proactive notifications and certificate delivery using a single digital interface. The government officials said the platform is designed to be simple, user-friendly and accessible round the clock.
The platform will have nearly 50 services offered by different government departments that have been identified and integrated in the initial phase of the project. The project is spearheaded by the Information and Technology Department of the Delhi government through the development and implementation of the initiative.
Nearly 50 services offered by different government departments have already been identified for inclusion in the initial phase of the project, officials said, adding that the integration process is currently underway.
In line with this initiative, the government also plans to develop a centralised dashboard to monitor and manage interactions between government departments and applicants in real time.
Officials said the department is coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure smooth deployment of the system ahead of the trial phase. The dashboard will help track officials, oversee departmental performance and address delays more efficiently.
