The action was caught on camera and went viral on social media, with the users flagging that such acts could put passengers, drivers, and pedestrians at serious risk.
As the incident came into light, authorities took cognisance of the matter and registered a case under Section 281 of the Motor Vehicles Act, which deals with dangerous driving and actions that could endanger public safety. The Delhi Police traced and arrested the accused, and the motorcycle allegedly used in the stunt was recovered.
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Police said that strict action will be taken against those flouting traffic rules. Users largely condemned the incident, with several urging for strict action to prevent such incidents in the future.
"Strict action must be taken against such people who are causing accidents, putting others’ lives at risk, and openly violating the law just to make reels. There is only one solution for them, jail," a user wrote.
