SRH vs RR IPL 2026 Eliminator: Yashasvi Jaiswal has dazzled for India in the longest format, bringing pride to fans everywhere. Yet, in the world of T20, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's sensational heroics have grabbed the limelight and captured hearts at breathtaking speed. Jaiswal, who has donned India's colors 55 times internationally, finds himself striving for recognition. Sooryavanshi, fresh but fearless, has not even made his international debut. Jaiswal, a seasoned IPL campaigner in his seventh year, battles each match to make his mark. Yet, despite 426 hard-fought runs through 15 matches, he faces the sting of being eclipsed as Sooryavanshi, with 680-plus runs and the feat of outshining a legend like Virat Kohli, claims the spotlight and adulation.

And that's why Ambati Rayudu's advice carries a note of empathy and urgency: Jaiswal, a pillar for the Rajasthan-based franchise since IPL 2020, has now been urged to seek a new beginning. Each season, the constant comparisons to Sooryavanshi weigh heavily, with R Ashwin pointing out Jaiswal's struggle for confidence and self-belief on the field. Rayudu's words resonate with the feeling that Jaiswal deserves a place where his star can shine bright, free from the shadow that now dims his journey.

'Overshadowed every single time'

“He needs to change his team. Because he cannot just bat with the guy and be overshadowed every single time, he’s a star in his own right. If he goes to another team, he will win matches on his own. He needs that space and that platform. Because this guy keeps overshadowing people, it has to be a senior partner alongside him who can handle it and be happy for him. Be happy for what is happening and not compete with the non-striker,” Ambati Rayudu was quoted as saying on ESPNCricinfo. These heartfelt words urge Jaiswal to escape the feeling of being perpetually in someone else’s shadow, urging a leap that could rekindle his spark and let his talent take center stage.

 Jaiswal's next home?

But the real question looms—which of the other nine teams will snap up Jaiswal? Rayudu supplies a logical answer: the Mumbai Indians. With Rohit Sharma edging closer to the fag end of his career for the Mumbai-based franchise, and Jaiswal emerging as his chief competitor in India's ODI squad as well, it seems sensible for him to switch to the team where he launched his cricketing career. He has powered Mumbai through all his First-class matches—Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
