GT vs SRH IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Gujarat Titans by 82 runs in their IPL 2026 match in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, as the hosts became the table toppers and the race to the playoffs intensified towards the business end of the season. Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar's half-centuries helped the Gujarat-based franchise post a respectable target. Then three-fers by Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada helped the team skittle the Pat Cummins-led side to less than half of the target.

The Hyderabad-based franchise suffered their fifth loss this year and are lying in third position in the points table, having scored 14 points from 12 matches. Ex-India spinner R Ashwin raised issues about their ability to tackle pitches that pose a stiff challenge to their aggressive batting lineup.

“The advantage for GT is that, if they manage to secure the top-2 places, they’d play at Dharamshala and Mullanpur and come back to Ahmedabad for the final", R Ashwin was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

“SRH is a boom or bust team, and with some life on the wicket, they’d struggle a bit. Most teams are building their teams at the auction with high-scoring ground and flat wickets in mind. But, given such conditions as in Ahmedabad, they’d be a bit more conservative with their approach", he added.

“So the conditions and requirements of the IPL decide how you pick your team. For instance, SRH know they have a high-scoring home pitch, and they draft their side based on that, but they’d have to adapt to other conditions on the road," he further said.

“SRH have a very strong unit, and they can challenge for the top-two spots, but their only pitfall is that, when the conditions don’t favor high-scoring games, I feel they trap themselves by trying to attack a bit too much," he concluded.
