Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan opened up on his time leading the side and his form with the bat after helping his team beat Rajasthan Royals in match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Ishan, who played a crucial role in India's T20 World Cup 2026 title-defending campaign, was rewarded with SRH captaincy after their regular skipper was out injured. During that period, he handled the extra responsibility well and also stayed consistent with the bat at the top of the order.

“It was quite fun leading the side for seven games, and Pat coming in, giving us that extra bowling power. So I was really happy when he was coming in the team anyway because he’s such a tremendous captain anyway. So I was just thinking about my batting and wicket-keeping more than leadership" said Ishan Kishan after SRH's win.
Ishan, who is in the form of his life, smashing 844 T20 runs this year, reckons that his best is yet to come. Notably, with that win, SRH created history as that was the fourth-highest successful run chase in IPL history.
SRH's performance in IPL 2026

SRH will now face five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 29 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
