Sanju Samson produced a brilliant unbeaten century as Chennai Super Kings completely outplayed Mumbai Indians with a massive 103-run win in their Indian Premier League 2026 clash between the two five-time champions at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
Samson, who has been in excellent form since joining CSK, scored his fifth IPL hundred and his second for the franchise in just four innings. His unbeaten 101 helped CSK post a strong total of 207 for 6 after MI chose to bowl first.

He held the innings together from one end as wickets kept falling at regular intervals, but he kept the scoreboard moving with ease. His knock came off 54 balls and included 10 fours and 6 sixes.
MI's batting collapsed while chasing
In reply, Mumbai Indians never really got going. They were bowled out for just 104 runs in 19 overs, suffering a heavy defeat in front of their home crowd.
The CSK spin attack did most of the damage. Akeal Hosein was outstanding with 4 for 17, while Noor Ahmad supported him well with 2 for 23. Their bowling effort helped CSK bounce back strongly after their previous loss to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
For MI, only Tilak Varma (37) and Suryakumar Yadav (35) showed some resistance, but the rest of the batting line-up collapsed under pressure.
Earlier in the match, MI bowlers AM Ghazanfar and Ashwani Kumar took two wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah bowled tightly and finished with figures of 1 for 31.
