CSK vs DC IPL 2026: Sanju Samson had made a brilliant comeback for the Chennai-based franchise at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium as he had smashed his fourth IPL hundred off 52 balls against Delhi Capitals. It was his first significant knock for CSK post being traded from the Rajasthan Royals during the auction last year. It is also the first century of the ongoing season.
Samson entered the ongoing season after performing brilliantly during the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he had smashed three fifties and helped the Suryakumar Yadav-led side defend the title. But he didn't have a great start for Chennai Super Kings, scoring 6, 7, and 9 runs in the first three games, as the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side struggled in the first half of the season.
Hailing from Kerala, Samson has smashed 14 fours and three sixes in his knock at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, entertaining the fans.

How Samson's innings unfolded
He started aggressively, having smashed a four in the first over against Aquib Nabi. He then ended the second over by smashing a few more fours and had set the foundation of his knock.
At the same time, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was seen struggling to score runs consistently.
Samson was able to smash fours at regular intervals and helped the host score 61 runs during the power play. Post Gaikwad's wicket, Samson, along with Ayush Mhatre, helped the team bounce back.

After a while, both the batters played aggressively as Samson brought his half-century off just 26 balls. He did survive a nervy dismissal as Pathum Nissanka had dropped his catch at deep mid-wicket when Samson had scored 52 runs.
After that, Samson played more freely. He had smashed a six during Kuldeep Yadav's over as the ball had gone towards deep extra cover. Samson and Mhatre helped the Chennai-based franchise score 130 runs in 13 overs, where Mhatre smashed a few sixes and scored his half-century.
Samson bludgeoned a six and pounded a four in Natarajan's over to storm into his nineties. He reached his hundred by drilling a four, then saluted the fans.
