Delhi Capitals (DC) speedster Kyle Jamieson has been warned and slapped with one demerit point from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his aggressive send-off to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Why BCCI handed over a demerit point to Kyle Jamieson

In a statement, the IPL said Jamieson broke Level 1 of the Code of Conduct in Match No. 43 played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The rule he breached, Article 2.5, relates to using words or actions that could insult or provoke another player.

"Kyle Jamieson has accumulated one Demerit Point and received a warning for breaching Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during Match No. 43 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur," an IPL statement read.

The Incident happened during the second over of the first innings when RR were batting. Jamieson gave a fiery send-off to Sooryavanshi after dismissing him, which could have provoked an aggressive reaction from the batter. Jamieson admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by the Match Referee, Rajeev Seth.
