MI vs PBKS IPL 2026 Toss Update: The out-of-form Mumbai Indians will lock horns with the Punjab Kings during their upcoming IPL 2026 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Mumbai-based franchise has won just one match and has lost three consecutive games.
They are in ninth place in the points table and will try to bounce back in this match. Before this clash even began, the Hardik Pandya-led side were dealt with Rohit Sharma's injury, and he has been ruled out of this match.
Jasprit Bumrah has been seen struggling in the ongoing season, as he has failed to take a single wicket, and his form has also raised questions. At the same time, the Shreyas Iyer-led side has been unbeaten so far, and they will try to continue their winning streak.

Before the upcoming match, let's take a look at the toss update:
MI Vs PBKS IPL 2026 toss update
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first as it's quite easy to chase a target at the Wankhede Stadium. The Punjab-based franchise had won its previous match and had fielded an unchanged playing XI.
At the same time, Hardik Pandya was quite relieved after losing the toss. They have made two changes to their playing XI: Rohit Sharma has been ruled out, and Quinton de Kock has replaced him. Mitchell Santner, too, has been snubbed, and Mayank Yadav will be making his debut.

MI Vs PBKS: What the captains had to say
Shreyas Iyer: "(Decision) We are going to bowl first.
(On the campaign so far) So far so good. We have got a brilliant start. That is what every captain desires. Our combination has been splendid. Now, we have to sustain the momentum.
(On what he told his troops) I just asked everyone on the team to stick to the present. It is easy to get complacent. It is a fast-paced game. But it is important to stay in your zone.
Hardik Pandya: "[on his decision] We were looking to bowl first as well—a good toss to lose.
[on needing to win] Time to play some good cricket and get a few wins. We played decent cricket; it's just that in a couple of overs, we failed to capitalize and lost some big moments.[on the bowling department conceding too many runs] In the last game, we went for four 20+ overs, which isn't good in T20 cricket. As a group, we are aware of what requires us to contain those overs and not let them slide away. We have spoken about it and planned about it; let's see how it goes today.
"Rohit misses out, he'll take a couple of games to see where he is,"he concluded.
