Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced Bangladesh's 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Nigar Sultana Joty will continue to captain the side, while spinner Nahida Akter has been appointed vice-captain.

Bangladesh's performance in recent World Cups

Bangladesh will be playing in the Women’s T20 World Cup for the seventh time and the team goes into the tournament with plenty of confidence. Earlier this year, they impressed everyone in the Global Qualifier by staying unbeaten in both the group stage and the Super Six round to book their place in the tournament.

The team also wants to carry forward the positives from the 2024 edition of the World Cup, where they began their campaign with a memorable 16-run win over the Scotland women's national cricket team. In recent years, Bangladesh has improved a lot in T20 cricket and now has a good mix of experienced players and young talent.

Captain Nigar Sultana will once again play an important role with the bat, while the bowling department will mainly rely on Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter. Youngsters such as Shorna Akter and Dilara Akter are also expected to play key roles during the competition.
