CSK vs SRH IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings' match against Sunrisers Hyderabad is not only crucial for playoff qualification but also marks their final home game at Chepauk Stadium. The contest may be MS Dhoni's last appearance in Chennai, giving fans another compelling reason to attend.

The ex-CSK skipper didn't play in any of the 12 matches this year owing to recurring calf and hamstring injuries. He also didn't travel with the team for their away matches.

On Monday, anticipation will peak as fans gather eagerly to witness 'Thala' live in action once more.

Spencer Johnson noted the huge home-game turnout, attributing it to Dhoni’s impact on the team and the atmosphere.

Just a day before the match, as is his custom for all home games, Dhoni attended training, facing sidearmers and net bowlers as he prepared for the upcoming contest.

Dhoni began his training session with grounded drives, gradually shifting to big shots. He spent roughly 15 minutes batting against spinners, then finished by facing pacers and smashing the ball down the ground toward the batting 'v'.

Johnson described attending a training session with Dhoni as "surreal," underscoring how Dhoni's presence inspires teammates.

“Just seeing him around training is a bit of a surreal moment. So very grateful for the fans that come out every game, whether it’s home or away, it feels like a home game. It’s pretty special,” he concluded.

When asked about Dhoni's participation in the upcoming match, Johnson admitted he could not provide an answer, prolonging the suspense for fans.
