South Africa speedster Lungi Ngidi has given a positive update after suffering a head injury during Delhi Capitals’ (DC) match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He told fans that he is “all good,” easing concerns after the incident.

Ngidi thanked fans

The fast bowler shared the message on Instagram a day after the match, thanking everyone who reached out to check on him.

"Thank you for the messages, all good," Ngidi wrote in his first public reaction after the injury scare.

How Ngidi got injured?

Ngidi had a scary fall during the game at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. While trying to take a catch, he lost balance and landed heavily on the back of his head and neck. The moment stopped play for several minutes as medical staff attended to him on the field before he was taken to the hospital.

He was later admitted to BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital but has since been discharged. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, chairman and co-owner of Delhi Capitals, also visited him at the hospital.

Delhi clearly felt Ngidi’s absence after he was taken off the field. The incident happened in the third over when Axar Patel was bowling. Ngidi ran back to try and catch a high shot from Priyansh Arya but couldn’t control his movement and fell badly without getting to the ball.

After the injury, all-rounder Vipraj Nigam came in as a concussion substitute. The IPL later said that Ngidi was stable and expected to recover well.
