IPL 2026: Lucknow Super Giants have received a significant boost as Australian wicket-keeper batter Josh Inglis joins their squad ahead of their IPL 2026 match against the Mumbai Indians, scheduled for next week in Mumbai. Inglis, whose availability sparked discussion, has arrived in India and was observed participating in a practice session with the team. He had previously informed the team he would miss the initial matches this season due to personal commitments following his marriage, fueling speculation about his participation.

There was uncertainty, but the Lucknow franchise had still secured him for Rs 8.6 crores after Punjab Kings released him. His delayed arrival prompted questions, but now his presence is viewed as a major advantage for the Rishabh Pant-led side, which currently sits at the bottom of the points table after winning only two of their eight matches.

His addition has reinforced their batting lineup, which has struggled for consistency this year, particularly among overseas players. With limited contributions from some members, the dynamic Australian batter is expected to provide the needed spark.

LSG also took to their official social media account and posted the caption, "Explosives from Down Under."

He enters the next match with confidence, having scored 278 runs in 11 games at a strike rate exceeding 160. Inglis is adept at countering top fast bowlers, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, who leads MI's attack. Inglis had excelled against Bumrah during IPL 2025.

The IPL 2026 match between MI and LSG will take place on Monday in Mumbai. Both teams aim to recover after disappointing performances so far. They are set for their ninth match this season, a game that will significantly impact their playoff prospects.
