PAK vs BAN: Bangladesh’s star wicket-keeper batter Litton Das was heard sledding Pakistan batter Mohammed Rizwan on the stump mic in the first Test in Mirpur on Monday. The incident happened in the 38th over, when Litton made fun of Rizwan, saying he didn’t have a good image back in Pakistan. "They are now trying to save the Test. They have no chance of winning. Rizwan's reputation is really bad back in Pakistan. If he gets out trying to hit a big shot, he won't even be able to set foot back in the country - his reputation is that bad, "Litton was heard as saying on the stump mic. It was a short comeback as Rizwan got out after scoring 15 runs. Although it looked like the Men in Green would force the match for a tie, Nahid Rana’s five-fer led to their batting collapse, and Bangladesh won the match by 104 runs.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s struggling Test captain Shan Masood was advised to stay composed after the defeat to Bangladesh. Masood, who has led his side since December 2003, has seen the team lose 11 out of 15 Tests and stressed he would make no excuses, noting they hadn’t played this format in a long time.

“Accountability is essential, and everyone must accept responsibility. I don't believe in assigning blame, but losing the Test this way is disappointing. At one stage, we could secure a draw,” Masood told reporters after the match.

“We played South Africa last year, nearly a year after hosting West Indies. We traveled to Bangladesh after being away for almost 6 months. All these factors matter. Replacing players or fielding only youngsters isn’t the answer,” he concluded.

Masood asserted that, like any Test captain, he aims to build a strong team in this format.
