KKR vs SRH IPL 2026: Daniel Vettori, who is the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad, had lauded Ishan Kishan for leading the team from the front brilliantly in Pat Cummins' absence, who hasn't regained full fitness yet. Vettori highlighted that Ishan captained the side brilliantly, scoring a gritty 80 off 38 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

“We’re fortunate that Cummins remains with the group and can guide Ishan on leadership. Ishan’s captaincy has been highly successful so far,” Vettori said during the pre-match press conference.

“Ishan loves leadership, and it can have a real positive effect on his batting and keeping. As he gets to understand the group and the dynamics, he’s going to put his mark on it, and he will be a very effective leader for us", he added.

Vettori also praised Ishan's batting against all bowlers. “He can hit all areas, handle fuller deliveries aggressively, and consistently puts pressure back on the bowler. He’s confident and knows his game when he walks out,” Vettori concluded.

After Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their opening match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, even after setting a target above 200 runs, Vettori emphasized that SRH bowlers must perform strongly in their upcoming clash with Kolkata Knight Riders.
