SRH vs CSK IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Ishan Kishan on Saturday became the first captain in the history of this tournament to have lost his first six tosses while leading a team from the front. According to Cricbuzz, David Miller previously held the record for losing five consecutive tosses after becoming the captain of the Punjab Kings during IPL 2016.
None of the other SRH skippers have lost six consecutive tosses except David Warner during IPL 2015. The chance of losing six consecutive tosses is 1 in 64, or approximately 1.56%. Owing to his poor luck, the Hyderabad-based franchise hasn't been able to chase yet this season. All the toss-winning teams have opted to bowl first this year, but Kishan has batted first in all six matches till now.
But at the time of the toss against CSK, he revealed that he would have anyway batted first.

“I think we would have batted first, batting here. It looks like a pretty good track to me. Giving up a good total was our team's plan. So nothing to worry at all… The first thing is that we always have to bat for the team, not focus on individual performances. If the ball is there from ball one, you have to go for it, and that’s it. That has worked pretty well for us. So, we look to do the same thing again and again, being in a very good headspace throughout the tournament," Ishan Kishan was heard as saying at the toss.
Despite their brilliant skills, the Hyderabad-based franchise has avoided the bottom three positions in the points table. They began this game in sixth place after winning two of the five matches they have played so far.
“I think we just have to take it game by game. It doesn’t matter where we are in the table right now. It’s a long tournament. We have to play so many more games. So, it’s just about keeping your plans and just being in a good headspace so that we can perform in a very good manner," he concluded.

Kishan failed to make a significant contribution with the bat as he was dismissed for a golden duck, as he mistimed a shot during Mukesh Chaudhary's over, as the fielder who was standing at mid-off took the catch.
