IPL 2026: The whole cricketing fraternity continues to search for words to capture what Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has accomplished at such a young age. With every innings, he shatters records and compels experts and ex-cricketers alike to measure him against what other prodigies have achieved.
Ex-Australia cricketer Tom Moody has now delivered one of the biggest compliments yet, invoking the name of Sir Don Bradman as he attempts to illustrate the scale of Sooryavanshi's achievements.
During an interaction on ESPNCricinfo, Moody confessed he couldn't adequately match the RR teen sensation, whose aggressive batting dominated the season.

"I'm sort of trying to get my head around how to explain it," Tom Moody was quoted as saying on ESPNCricinfo.
"The only way to explain it is to ask someone to watch it and come up with their own description, because we're witnessing something I don't think we've seen in our lifetime in this format of the game, or even any format of the game", he added.
The youngster's growth has been quite extraordinary. He has demolished some of the best bowlers with confidence, unleashing his brilliant strokeplay. Although teenage stars have seized attention before, only a few have dazzled with such consistent performances during a T20 tournament as Sooryavanshi has.

Moody had opined that Sooryavanshi's uniqueness has made it difficult for him to compare him to any legendary player.
"We've seen amazing things, but never anything that made us dream this wildly," he added, his words echoing the collective amazement of cricket fans everywhere.
Then, with unmistakable reverence, the ex-Australian cricketer invoked the spirit of one of the sport’s true icons—Bradman—to express just how earth-shattering Sooryavanshi’s impact has been.
"The only thing I can take it back to is when we were not around, on what Don Bradman was doing. Bradman nearly averaged 100 in Test cricket, and the drop-off to the next best was around 60, so that's the separation we're talking about. It's that in T20 cricket at the age of 15", he concluded.
This comparison isn’t simply about style or numbers; it is about the sheer, breathtaking chasm between Sooryavanshi and his peers—a gap reminiscent of Bradman’s legendary dominance. Bradman's exploits still inspire awe to this day, and Moody's words reveal the deep respect and amazement Sooryavanshi commands.
Many legendary cricketers have applauded Sooryavanshi for his dazzling performances, including Sunil Gavaskar, who championed Sooryavanshi's inclusion in India's T20 series against England.
