IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper and star fast bowler Pat Cummins has flown back to Australia as he will be undergoing a scan for his injured back, according to an ESPNCricinfo report. Cummins, who had pulled out of the recently concluded T20 World Cup due to a lumbar stress fracture, did join the Hyderabad-based team for a while and attended a light training session, but will now return to Australia for one last assessment.
The scan, scheduled in advance, will be conducted by Cricket Australia.
Ishan Kishan remains captain in Cummins' absence.

Cummins had flown back to Australia after SRH's last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The Australian pacer could rejoin Hyderabad later this month.nth.
So now he will miss three matches against teams like the Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals.
Cummins initially said he will regain full fitness by the second half of this tournament if everything goes according to his recovery plan.

"I'm still recovering from a back injury, but it's good. I am back bowling in the nets. The IPL is starting soon.
