RR vs MI IPL 2026: The Rajasthan Royals team management has dismissed concerns about Shimron Hetmyer's form ahead of their IPL 2026 match against the Mumbai Indians and has come out in support of the star batter performing well. Even though he didn't have a great start to the IPL 2026, the Rajasthan-based franchise is quite confident that their middle-order batter will bounce back.

Hetmyer entered the ongoing season riding high on confidence, having a dream run at the 2026 T20 World Cup while representing West Indies, as he had scored 248 runs at a staggering strike rate of 186.47. Although he hasn't been able to repeat those heroics in the ongoing tournament, they have batters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Dhruv Jurel in their top order who have performed consistently.

“We don't have any concerns about Hetmyer or Riyan's form. We can't get too worried about such things. We are in a good space,” Siddharth Lahiri, who is Rajasthan Royals' performance coach, told reporters during the pre-match press conference.

“We've worked with them in certain areas, and I'm glad Dhruv is doing really well. Riyan is also batting well but has been a bit unlucky. It's only been two games,” he concluded.

The Rajasthan-based franchise's middle order consists of Hetmyer and skipper Riyan Parag, and both have failed to make significant contributions so far, mainly because of the flying starts from their top-order batters. But as the tournament progresses, they will face stiff challenges, so they want their finishers to rise to the occasion and bolster their batting.

HOW RR'S MIDDLE ORDER SHAPES UP VS MI

Their upcoming IPL 2026 match against the Mumbai Indians will test their batting attack. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult will spearhead the Mumbai Indians' bowling lineup along with spinners like Mitchell Santner, who does have all-around skills.

Although the Riyan Parag-led side's top-order has been in sublime form, their middle-order is expected to play a huge role during the later stages of the match, and that too against a formidable bowling lineup.

Hetmyer will try to bounce back in the upcoming match. Considering his recent form in international cricket and his brilliant abilities as a finisher, the Rajasthan-based franchise is hopeful that it's just a matter of time before he makes a significant contribution with the bat this year.
