LSG vs DC IPL 2026: Justin Langer, who is the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants, didn't say much as to where skipper Rishabh Pant will be coming into bat before their tournament opener against Delhi Capitals on 1st April. Pant had a forgettable IPL last year, as LSG roped him in for a whopping Rs 27 crore.

This also has to do with his batting position being constantly changed. He did bat at the No.4 position in four of their five matches. He didn't bat during the high-scoring match against KKR and then even came into bat at the No.7 position against the Delhi-based franchise.

He has been quite successful as the No. 3 batter, smashing a century against RCB in their last group-stage match. Predictions were rife before the ongoing season that Pant would bat at No. 3 instead of Nicholas Pooran, who had a dream run at the position, having scored 466 runs in 12 matches, including five half-centuries.

Langer acknowledged that it's quite challenging to fit Pant, Pooran, Aiden Markram, and Mitchell Marsh into the top four, as they are all brilliant batters. But he also admitted that it's a good headache before playing the ongoing season.

While discussing Pant, Langer highlighted that he would withhold details to prevent DC from anticipating their strategy before the match and telling you. Well, the truth is, I'm not gonna sit here and tell you where Rishabh Pant's gonna bat tomorrow. I appreciate you asking, but if you want a straight answer, I'm not telling you where he's gonna bat tomorrow because then DC knows where he's gonna bat. Then they'll have to deal with it tonight, not tomorrow at 7:30. Thanks for asking, though, you'll wait and see like everyone else," Langer told reporters during the pre-match press conference.

He has scored 558 runs after playing in 15 matches, which includes smashing a century and two half-centuries. He has batted during IPL 2025. Pant scored 269 runs across 14 matches and will look to repeat his heroics this season as well.
