RR vs MI IPL 2026 Weather Update: Fans of both the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians will be keeping a close eye on the weather in Guwahati, where the upcoming clash will be held, as rain is threatening. Guwahati will experience a cloudy morning on Tuesday, along with some rainfall and thunderstorms in a few parts of the city in the afternoon. It will rain the most from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., along with 55% chance of precipitation.

But there is some good news for fans: the weather might improve in the evening. The chance of rain spoiling will be 21% till 6:00 p.m., then reduce by 6% at the time of the toss, and the sky will become clear during the match at night.

What if rain interrupts play?

Even if the weather improves in the evening, the match could still be delayed, which would significantly impact the result. According to the tournament's playing conditions, a five-over-per-side match can only take place if it starts by 10:56 p.m. and the toss must be held by 10:46 p.m.

A shortened five-over match can also turn into a high-octane clash where batting is expected to play a major role. But if it continues to rain after the cut-off time, the match will be called off, and both teams will score one point apiece, a situation that has already occurred in the ongoing season.

Fresh reminder of Eden washout

The first rain-induced match of the ongoing season had occurred on Monday, where Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings had to share one point apiece at the Eden Gardens.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led side was reeling at 25/2 in 3.4 overs, and that's when rain played a spoilsport. Even though there was a short window left in the night, the weather conditions didn't allow a five-over match to be held. This washout showed how small the window might be when weather conditions interfere.

High-stakes clash on the cards

If the weather conditions permit, the fans of both teams will be in for a high-octane clash. The Riyan Parag-led side has played consistently, with both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi giving a flying start.

At the same time, the Mumbai-based franchise is hopeful that their regular captain, Hardik Pandya, will return to the playing XI after missing their previous match. Since Jasprit Bumrah hasn't been at his absolute best yet, and their bowling lineup is under immense pressure, they will try to make a brilliant comeback.

Since RR are riding high on confidence and the Hardik Pandya-led side is aiming to make a brilliant comeback, the upcoming clash promises to be a nail-biting thriller only if the weather conditions permit.
