KKR vs LSG IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders' star all-rounder Cameron Green, whose inability to bowl has raised questions since he was playing with a price tag of Rs 25.2 crore and had taken the wicket of the tournament's most expensive player ever, Rishabh Pant, on his second ball of the ongoing season.

Green hasn't bowled in KKR's first two matches of IPL 2026, first against the Hardik Pandya-led side and then against SRH, as they lost both. Their third match against the Punjab-based franchise was abandoned after the fourth over.

This limited contribution from Green was expected, as Cricket Australia had informed the Ajinkya Rahane-led Knight Riders before the season that Green would begin this tournament as a batter only.

“Cameron has a lower-back injury that requires management and temporarily prevents him from bowling. He is currently rebuilding his bowling workload in India, and a return is expected in approximately 10–12 days," said a statement from Cricket Australia.

Green has now started bowling just 10 days after this statement was released, and this is considered a huge boost to the Kolkata-based franchise's weak bowling lineup.

With Green unable to bowl, it was a huge blow, as their key bowlers were unavailable for this season. Mustafizur Rahman was forced to pull out due to BCCI's interference, whereas Harshit Rana and Akash Deep were ruled out due to injuries.

Sunil Narine also missed their last match due to illness, whereas Varun Chakravarthy is currently suffering from a hand injury.

“Cameron Green in his first over of the IPL:- Concedes a SIX- Takes a wicket- Bowls a wide- Bowls a no-ball, A proper “everything happened" kind of over 😅," a fan had written on his official X account.

At the same time, Pant was roped in for a whopping Rs 27 crore by the Lucknow-based franchise during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
