SRH vs PBKS IPL 2026: Punjab Kings fielders endured a disappointing night, dropping three catches against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Additionally, Prabsimran Singh missed a stumping opportunity during Yuzvendra Chahal's over. Chahal was on track for a four-wicket haul in his first three overs, but Punjab's fielding lapses proved costly. First, Cooper Conolly spilled Ishan Kishan's catch at deep backward square leg in Lockie Ferguson's over.

Shashank Singh and Ferguson also let chances slip during Chahal's over, leaving the spinner visibly frustrated.

"Chahal is facing tough luck tonight," the commentator remarked as Prabsimran missed the stumping chance against Kishan in the 11th over.

Shashank has dropped four catches this season, the highest for any PBKS player.

Ricky Ponting, head coach of the Shreyas Iyer-led team, appeared concerned but supported Shashank. "Poor Shashank Singh, the ball keeps finding him," he remarked.

Shashank rejoined the playing XI after sitting out their previous defeat against the Shubman Gill-led side.

After winning the toss, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer stated, "We will bowl first. We've learned from our recent losses and have no complaints about travel. Everyone remains professional. SRH chased in the last match, so we decided to bowl. Shashank returns."

The host brought Nitish Kumar Reddy back into the playing XI after omitting him in their previous match.

SRH captain Pat Cummins commented at the toss, "I would have bowled first too. We hope to perform well tonight. The crowds have been supportive this season. The pitch is hard to judge; we aim to post a strong total. Nitish returns for us tonight."
