IPL 2026: The IPL 2026 is all set to start on March 28, with the first match scheduled to be played between the defending champions, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. As fans as well as all 10 franchises gear up for action in the 19th edition of the cash-rich league, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Manish Pandey are set to create history by extending an outstanding record.
Kohli will be in action for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) while Rohit and Dhoni will play for Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), respectively. Notably, Kohli witnessed one of the most memorable moments in his cricketing career when he lifted his much-awaited maiden IPL title with the RCB last year. On the other hand, Manish will ply his trade for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Kohli is the only player who has played for only one franchise in every IPL season thus far. He joined RCB as a youngster way back in 2008 and has been part of them since then. These four players are still going strong and will achieve the incredible feat of playing all 19 IPL seasons soon. After a promising first few years in the IPL with the RCB, the franchise saw the next superstar in him, and he was the only player they retained before the IPL 2011 mega-auction. Kohli captained RCB from IPL 2013 to 2021. With 8661 runs, Kohli is IPL's highest run-scorer on the back of 8 centuries.

Rohit started his IPL journey with Deccan Chargers and played for them from IPL 2008 to 2010, winning the title in the 2009 edition. He joined MI in the IPL 2011 mega-auction and has been playing for them since then. He also captained the Mumbai Indians for several years, establishing himself as the tournament's joint-most successful captain before being sacked in 2023. He is one of the few players to have won a record six IPL titles as a player.
Talking about Dhoni, the former Indian captain was the costliest pick of the IPL 2008 mega-auction, and he kicked off his IPL journey with CSK. Dhoni-led CSK qualified for the IPL 2008 final, where they lost to Rajasthan Royals. Dhoni continued to lead CSK till IPL 2023, helping them win five titles. On the other hand, Manish joined MI before IPL 2008, before moving to the RCB before IPL 2009. An uncapped Manish became the talk of the town when he became the first Indian to hit an IPL ton. He achieved the milestone in IPL 2009, which was played in South Africa. He has also played for Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Pune Warriors.
