Facing Pat Cummins, Patel launched a six on his second ball, followed by a precise flick off a low full-toss, sending the ball toward backward square in Dhoni’s iconic style, and flawlessly executed the helicopter shot.

MS Dhoni was absent from the playing XI, still not match-ready, despite traveling with the team. His absence deeply affected fans who packed M.A. Chidambaram Stadium to see their "Thala" in action one last time.

“The good news is he's still here. But he's not fit enough to play this game. Hopefully, we'll win this one, and you never know, maybe in the last game,” Ruturaj Gaikwad was heard as saying at the time of the toss.
