CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad's woeful form in the ongoing season has persisted, as he registered a single-digit score yet again at home against the Ajinkya Rahane-led side on Tuesday.
He had scored just seven runs off six balls and was dismissed by Anukul Roy. In the ongoing season, he had scored 15 runs against the Axar Patel-led side, had scored seven runs against the reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, had scored 28 runs against the Shreyas Iyer-led side, and had scored six runs against the Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju Samson had maintained his sublime form from their match against the Delhi-based franchise, where he smashed an unbeaten hundred. He started his knock by smashing three consecutive fours.
Rovman Powell took Gaikwad's catch standing in deep cover, ending the CSK captain's innings.
Ayush Mhatre was the next batter, who scored a gritty knock of 38 runs as he had smashed six fours and two sixes and helped the host score 72 runs during the powerplay, and then got out on the last ball during the sixth over as Ramandeep Singh took a catch while standing in the deep.

The Protea youngster Dewald Brevis had come into bat after Mhatre's dismissal and helped the host score 100 runs before Kartik Tyagi dismissed the in-form batter Samson, who fell short of a well-deserved fifty.
Sarfaraz Khan was the new batter, who too scored a gritty knock of 23 runs, but then Sunil Narine took his wicket. Brevis, who had scored a gritty knock of 41 runs, got out in Tyagi's over as Vaibhav Arora took his catch.
