Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put on a stunning show for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their Indian Premier League 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
The 15-year-old played a brilliant knock of 103 runs from just 37 balls, smashing 12 sixes and five fours. His aggressive batting helped the hosts to put a mammoth 228/6 in 20 overs. But despite that big score, RR failed to defend as SRH chased it down with nine balls left and five wickets in hand. Abhishek Sharma (57) and Ishan Kishan (74) played key roles in Hyderabad’s win, which was their fourth straight victory.

After the match, Kishan and Sooryavanshi were seen having a friendly chat, and later details of their conversation came out. Kishan said he already knows how talented Sooryavanshi is and even felt that his dismissal was a turning point in the match. According to him, if the young batter had stayed longer, RR could have easily gone past 250 runs.
He also joked that he told Sooryavanshi to go a bit easier when playing against his team.
“I was just telling him about the madness with which he is batting and how he is hitting. Sometimes, you are even scared thinking about what the scorecard could have looked like if he had stayed for a few more overs. So, it was important for us to get his wicket. It was 228; it could have easily been 258," said Kishan while speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live’.
“Cricket is all about comebacks. We got him out and made a little comeback there. That’s what I told him, ‘When I am playing against you, please go a little easy on my team. I know all your secrets and inside stories',” he added.
