DC vs LSG IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals' star fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera is quite confident ahead of their IPL 2026 opener against Lucknow Super Giants and revealed that the players are focused on their preparations and that the team's atmosphere is really positive. Delhi Capitals will face the Lucknow-based franchise at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on 1st April, Wednesday. In last year's IPL auctions, the Delhi-based franchise roped in Chameera for Rs 75 lakh. "We've had a good few days of preparation, including two practice games. The boys are in a good space right now," Chameera told reporters during the pre-match press conference.

"So far this season, we've seen that home teams have won all three matches. We expect them (LSG) to come hard at us. That said, we've prepared well over the past few days. We have many experienced players in our squad. We're confident of putting in a strong performance tomorrow," he said.

Chameera admitted that LSG has a formidable batting lineup, featuring players like skipper Rishabh Pant, Ayush Badoni, Matthew Breetzke, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and Mitchell Marsh.

He was asked what their strategy would be against LSG batters, and the fast bowler revealed that the bowlers had held many discussions and had made specific plans for each batter.

"We've had detailed discussions within the bowling group. We have specific plans for each batter. Players like Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh at the top are in good form. They have performed really well recently. On these kinds of wickets, execution is key for fast bowlers. Our focus is on being precise with our plans," he said, so he talked about his workload management and concluded by saying, "Fast bowling is a demanding job, and compared to others, fast bowlers are more prone to injuries." So we need to stay on top of our fitness, strength, and conditioning, and take good care of our bodies."
