PSL 2026: Ex-Australian cricketer David Warner has been accused of drunk driving after he was pulled over in Maroubra, Sydney, in a breath test. As per news.com.au, police revealed that the former Australian cricketer had stopped and parked even before he had reached the testing site. But when the officers came towards his car and asked him to undergo a breath test, he was found in a drunken state.
After that, Warner was arrested and presented at Maroubra Police Station, where he was asked to provide a breath sample, which registered at 0.104. He will be facing a court hearing in May. The former Australian cricketer, who is currently representing Karachi Kings in PSL 2026, returned to Australia for a few days due to a gap before Karachi Kings' next match. He will reach Pakistan well in time for their next clash later this week.
Warner, who was one of Australia's best openers, announced his retirement from all formats of the game in 2024, but is still playing in franchise cricket, which also includes the Big Bash League.
He had a great stint with the Sydney Thunder and also became the skipper of the tournament's official team. He was the highest run-getter in a single season, when his team won just two matches and finished last in the points table.
He had scored 433 runs after playing in eight matches for the Thunder, whereas the second-best batter of this tournament had scored 201 runs short of Warner. He will continue to play for the same team in the next BBL season.
What Warner said about signing for the Thunder
He emphasized that he is excited to represent the Thunder again and can't wait to play for this team.

"It was a tough year for us. We are better than what we showed this season and could not play consistently," David Warner said after confirming his contract.
"The support from our fans was a big reason I stayed. I feel I have more to give to this team. I was happy with my performance and proud to help the team fight. We have started reviewing the season and planning for a stronger BBL16," he concluded.
Warner is currently captaining Karachi Kings during PSL 2026. They are in second place in the points table after winning three consecutive matches. They will lock horns with Peshawar Zalmi during their next match in their backyard.
He had represented Australia in 112 Tests, 161 ODIs, and 110 T20Is and had scored more than 15000 runs across formats. He also led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their IPL title in 2016, leading the team from the front.
