CSK vs DC IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has revealed that MS Dhoni will be seen in action really soon on Saturday. Gaikwad emphasized that Dhoni, who hasn't yet recovered from his calf injury, will be following this game from his hotel room.
The CSK fans haven't been able to watch MS Dhoni in action live since the pre-season 'Roar' event at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Although his effect on the side has been restricted for a while, and it hasn't worked in the Chennai-based franchise's favor, as they have lost three consecutive matches, where they were seen struggling in almost all departments.
“He’s at the hotel watching us play and supporting us. But really soon, he’ll be on the ground," Gaikwad said at the toss.

DC captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first. Patel highlighted that the pitch looked good, which is why they wanted to chase, but Gaikwad thought it was a bit dry.
“The pitch does look a bit on the drier side. We were actually 50-50 about the toss, but it’s good to back ourselves. The aim is to put our best foot forward today, get that first win, and get on the points table. That’s what we’ve been trying over the last couple of games as well. As I mentioned in the press conference, we’ve been improving in all departments. The batting has been doing really well; it’s just a few key moments where we’ve missed out, and those are the areas we need to capitalize on. But overall, everyone is in a good space and really eager to go. When you look at the balance of the side, we are definitely playing to our potential," he concluded.
Dhoni was seen attending a practice session one day before the match. Speculations are rife that he will be seen in action during their next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, which will be held next week.
