Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bowl against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 53rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, which is taking place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK are featuring with the same playing XI means MS Dhoni's fans have to wait more to see him batting in the tournament. On the other hand, LSG featured with two changes as Josh Inglis and Avesh Khan comes in.

Captains at Toss

Rishabh Pant (LSG Captain): We would have bowled first as well. We're definitely trying to look at each and every match from here. But at the same time, we've got to be consistent and look to play good cricket. I think just looking to play good cricket as of now. We had our moments. We had our chances in a lot of games but we couldn't finish it up . And that's the learning for us - as we move forward in the tournament, that's the only thing, like I said in Mumbai that we're going to give our 200% regardless of every match. And we're trying to do that. We have two changes in the team. Josh Inglis comes in because he was injured in the last game, and Avesh comes in for Mayank

Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK Captain): We will bowl first. The wicket was under covers and there was rain around. The pitch does behave differently in day games, but we need to adapt well and then restrict them to a low score. Pretty positive on the way the last 7-8 games have gone for us. It's been a good turnaround and we'll look to stay positive. We are playing the same team.
