BCCI Naman Awards 2026: India's star batter, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, expressed his delight at attending the BCCI Naman Awards in Mumbai, stating that it felt wonderful to be reunited with his teammates and coaches after winning a trophy at the World Cup.

Building on his elation, Vaibhav scored a match-winning knock of 175 runs off 80 balls against England, where he hit 15 fours and as many sixes during the summit clash of the 2026 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, as the Men in Blue won the trophy.

Asked about his approach at the crease, he explained, "Nothing specific, just try to play the situation and do whatever the team and the match scenario needs me to. Try to play according to that back with my natural game and strength."

Want To Win IPL For RR!

His impressive performances led to him becoming the youngest player to sign an IPL contract, as Rajasthan Royals roped him in for a whopping Rs 1.1 crore.

Reflecting on his journey with the Rajasthan Royals, the youngster revealed that the team's management had groomed him since he was 11 years old.

“When I made my domestic debut, RR had already been keeping an eye on me during my domestic and Under-19 games. Their scouting team had tracked me for a long time, so when my trial with them went very well, I felt I could join RR," he added.

Continuing on his experience with RR, he said, "I am happy to be with RR, as I have improved a lot too in my life while playing for RR."

He also talked about the training camps and the first few days at the Rajasthan-based franchise, sharing, "For any youngster, the first IPL camp is always interesting, and it was the same for me too."

Recounting those initial experiences, he said, "Rahul (Dravid) sir was there at that time, so I got to learn a lot from him. There were a lot of senior players in the team, and I had a good learning experience from them during the first camp as well as the first IPL."

Looking ahead, he also revealed his plans for the upcoming IPL season, where he aims to help the team win the trophy.

“The goal this IPL season is to win the trophy for the team. I want to perform well and help RR succeed. I aim to contribute to RR’s victories and win the trophy," he concluded.
