The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken action against several players, team officials and franchise representatives over alleged betting and corruption issues linked to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This is the first major anti-corruption move since the board created its Integrity Unit in November 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, the BCB said the charges came after investigations carried out by the Bangladesh Cricket Board Integrity Unit (BCBIU) during the 12th edition of the BPL.
According to the board, the investigations involved suspected betting activities, corrupt approaches, failure to follow official notices issued under the anti-corruption code, deleting or hiding important messages and information, and not cooperating with anti-corruption officials.
Players and Officials who are charged by BCB
Among those charged are team manager Md. Lablur Rahman and franchise co-owner Md. Towhidul Haque Towhid. The BCB accused both men of not helping with the investigation and allegedly trying to block the inquiry by hiding or deleting relevant communication and records.
Domestic cricketer Amit Mojumder and team manager Rezwan Kabir Siddique have also been charged under Article 2.2.1 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for allegedly placing bets connected to cricket matches.

BCB suspended Players and Officials
The BCB said all the charged individuals have been temporarily suspended and given 14 days to respond to the allegations after receiving the official notices.
The board has also issued an Exclusion Order against Saminur Rahman after investigating alleged corrupt activities linked to several BPL seasons, including the ninth, 10th and 11th editions.

The investigation reportedly found suspected betting activities, corrupt approaches made to players and agents, and connections with people linked to local and international betting networks.
The BCB added that after receiving a Notice of Intended Exclusion Order, Rahman chose not to challenge the decision and accepted the punishment under the Excluded Person Policy.
Alex Marshall said the latest developments showed the board’s strong commitment to fighting corruption in Bangladesh cricket and not just focusing on players alone.
“Today marks an important milestone in the work to protect cricket in Bangladesh,” Marshall said. “These are the first cases to reach conclusion since the BCB IU was formed in November 2025.”
Marshall also revealed that one individual has been banned from all cricket-related activities around the world after investigators found what he called “irrefutable evidence” of long-running corrupt activities, including match-fixing and money transfers connected to foreign bookmakers.
He further said the Integrity Unit is still investigating several other cases linked to findings from the Independent Inquiry Commission Report, and more charges could be announced in the coming weeks and months.
Earlier during the 2025-26 BPL season, the BCB Integrity Unit had already raised concerns over “credible suspicion” and questioned players and officials from different franchises during the tournament, which ended in January.
