MI vs LSG IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians spinner Allah Ghazanfar reached a significant milestone on Monday during their IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants at home. Ghazanfar, from Afghanistan, dismissed Josh Inglis in the third over, delivering a crucial breakthrough. He now holds the record for most wickets taken in the power play for the Mumbai franchise in a single season.
Ghazanfar, the Hardik Pandya-led team’s top wicket-taker this season, has claimed six wickets so far. He surpassed Harbhajan Singh’s mark of five wickets in IPL 2011.
Ghazanfar bowled a precise carrom ball, causing Josh Inglis to mistime a pull shot. Inglis attempted to direct the ball to mid-on, but the bat produced a top edge. Suryakumar Yadav sprinted backward from mid-on and completed an excellent catch. Inglis was dismissed after scoring 13 runs off five balls.
Jasprit Bumrah has the record of taking the most wickets during the powerplay for the Mumbai-based franchise. But the star pacer hasn't been at his absolute best this year, but he still is leading the list after taking 40 wickets, and apart from the other bowlers in this list are Lasith Malinga (37), Trent Boult (31), and Mitchell McClaughlin (31), all lying in third position.
