Abhishek Sharma Scripts History, Becomes First Indian To Smash 100 IPL Sixes For Sunrisers Hyderabad

KKR vs SRH IPL 2026: Abhishek Sharma is currently playing as an opener for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders, and has smashed a gritty knock of 48 runs off 21 balls. He had hit four fours and as many sixes in his knock and had stitched a partnership of 82 runs for the first wicket with Travis Head, who scored 46 runs off 21 balls. Abhishek fell short of a well-deserved fifty, but before getting dismissed, he scripted history as he became the first Indian cricketer to have smashed 100 sixes in this tournament for the Hyderabad-based franchise.

Abhishek, who SRH retained for a whopping amount of Rs 14 crore before the IPL 2025 mega auction, has smashed 101 sixes after playing in 76 IPL matches till now. David Warner is the only other batter who has smashed more sixes for SRH than Abhishek.

Warner, who went unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction, has featured in 95 IPL matches for the Hyderabad-based franchise between 2014 and 2021, smashing 143 sixes.
