SRH vs CSK IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad star opener Abhishek Sharma has broken his own tally and has become the first batter to have smashed a fifty off 15 balls. He achieved this milestone during their IPL 2026 match against Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad on Sunday.

It was Abhishek yet again who had achieved the previous best record off 16 balls during their IPL 2024 match against the Mumbai Indians, and twice by his fellow opener Travis Head during their IPL 2024 match against the Delhi Capitals.

He has leveled this record with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (twice), Jake Fraser-McGurk (twice), Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine, and Yousuf Pathan, who have smashed the third fastest fifty in the history of this tournament.

Abhishek was dismissed after scoring 59 runs off 22 balls during the eighth over by Jamie Overton as Sanju Samson got the slight outside edge. Yet both he and the Hyderabad-based franchise thought he gave the team a flying start, which they had been hoping for in the ongoing season.

The youngster has been quite inconsistent in the shortest format this year. Apart from him, Head's struggles with form have only added to SRH's woes, which is why they are overly reliant on their bowling. At the same time, this innings would boost Abhishek's confidence, as he has been a part of unnecessary conversations about his position in India's T20I team amid Sooryavanshi's rise.
