LSG vs SRH IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad and star India opener Abhishek Sharma's lean patch has continued as he has joined Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson in an unwanted list for becoming the Indian batter to get dismissed on a duck the most time in a single year. In the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants, Mohammed Shami took Abhishek's wicket for a two-ball duck. It was the sixth time that he got out on a duck this year in the shortest format and leveled Rohit (six ducks in 2018) and Samson (six ducks in 2024) for being dismissed on a duck the most times in a single year as an Indian batter in this format.
Abhishek didn't have a great start to the ongoing season, scoring just 55 runs across three matches, with his highest individual score of 48 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game.
The world no.1 T20I batter also had a forgetful outing during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, where he scored 141 runs after playing in eight matches at a poor average of 17.62 and a strike rate of 158, which also includes two fifties and one of them he smashed during the summit clash. He also had registered three consecutive ducks at the start of this mega event.
He has gone through a lean patch this year, scoring just 378 runs across 16 T20 matches at a poor average of 25.20 and a strike rate of 195, including four half-centuries; his highest individual score was 84.
The Rishabh Pant-led side had asked the hosts to bat first in their IPL 2026 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
The Lucknow-based franchise made one change to their playing XI, replacing Anrich Nortje with Manimaran Siddharth. The Ishan Kishan-led side also made a few changes to their playing XI, bringing in Liam Livingstone and Harshal Patel.
