Income Tax 'Kar Saathi' website: To make tax related process simpler as the new financial year begins, the Income Tax Department launched a AI powered website called "˜Kar Saathi'.  According to the department, the platform is equipped with all direct tax-related information, helping taxpayers getting answer of all tax related quarries at one platform.

The platform is designed to give hassle free experience to users with its easy-to-use navigation features. The same will work as an assistance as the income tax filing season has begun. 

"The New Income Tax website is here. Simpler to navigate and faster to use. One place to access all IncomeTax-related information. Meet Kar Saathi, your AI companion to help make your Direct Tax-related journeys easier," Income Tax India said in a post on X. 

The move is part of the government's broader drive to modernise tax administration and improve user experience through technology, IANS said in its report.

24/7 Assistance

The AI chatbot, Kar Sati, is expected to provide 24x7 assistance to taxpayers through the department's website.

Earlier, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agarwal highlighted the initiative while launching an outreach programme called "PRARAMBH".

He had said that a smooth and technology-driven system would be created by incorporating digital services, including new websites and guidance tools, in a phased manner.

Agarwal emphasised that the policy reforms and the launch of Mission India (Responsible Action) were a major step in India's tax administration journey.

He said the transition to the new tax framework not only introduces new rules but also makes the system simpler, clearer and more reliable for taxpayers.

As part of the simplification, the number of rules has been significantly reduced from 510 to 333, while the number of forms has been reduced from 399 to 190. This reduction will make it easier to track and eliminate the need for over 60 million transactions.
