The Finance Ministry said in a statement that annual UPI transaction volume is projected to grow from ₹1.78 crore in 2016-17 to over Rs 24,162 crore in 2025-26, a growth of nearly 13,000 times.

With over 66 crore transactions processed daily, UPI has become a major payment network in India. It also strengthens the country's position as a global leader in instant and large-scale digital payments.
