Stock Market Today: The domestic equity indices settled the session on Friday at a higher note amid sustained buying momentum. During the session, the BSE's 30-share index Sensex and NSE's Nifty50 rallied nearly 1 per cent during the session. Today's rally was driven by optimism surrounding easing geopolitical tensions, some positive commentary around US-Iran peace talks, fresh foreign fund inflows, and a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
The Sensex jumped 504.86 points, or 0.65 per cent, to settle at 78,493.54. During the day, it surged 564.77 points, or 0.72 per cent, to 78,553.45. Meanwhile, the Nifty ended the session 156.80 points, or 0.65 per cent higher at 24,353.55.
"Indian equity markets closed on a cautiously positive note, extending their recovery as fresh signs of de-escalation in the Middle East supported investor sentiment and eased concerns that had weighed on markets since the onset of the conflict," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.
"Global markets presented a mixed picture, with U.S. and most European indices trading in positive territory, while Asian markets delivered a more divergent performance, with several indices closing marginally lower as participants remained cautious amid evolving geopolitical developments and energy supply concerns," Ponmudi added.

Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Industries, Bharat Electronics, Power Grid, Tech Mahindra and Titan were among the top gainers from the Sensex basket. In contrast, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro and HCL Tech closed in negative territory.
