Stock Market Holiday: The trading activities in the Indian stock market will remain shut on Friday, June 26, as the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will observe a holiday on the occasion of Muharram. Subsequently, the exchanges' operations will remain shut on Saturday and Sunday as usual. Post a three-day closure, the exchanges will start trading operations on Monday, June 29.

Additionally, trading activities in the Equity Derivatives Segment and Currency Derivatives Segment will remain suspended.

June: For Muharram, on June 26

July: For Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14

October: For Dussehra, on October 20

November: For Diwali On November 10, and Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti On November 24

December: For Christmas Day, on December 25.

Bank Holiday in June 2026

You should plan your bank visit carefully for the remaining days of this week, as the bank branches across most parts of the nation will be closed for three consecutive days from tomorrow. Bank branches in many cities across the nation will remain shut on Friday, June 26, for Muharram. Additionally, banks will be closed across the nation on Saturday--the 4th Saturday of the month--and Sunday--a usual holiday for banks.

Where banks will not be closed on June 26 for Muharram 

Bank branches in cities like Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kochi, Panji, Shillong, Kohima, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, and Thiruvanthapuram may remain operational on June 26. 

On the other hand, Bank branches in Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, and Patna will remain closed.
