Is Stock Market Open Today?: The Indian stock exchanges--NSE, BSE--are closed today for Maharashtra Day, meaning trading in equity and derivatives is suspended.
Additionally, trading activities in derivatives, currency derivatives, electronic gold receipts (EGR), securities lending and borrowing (SLB),is also closed.
Stock Market Holiday In May 2026
In addition to the regular weekend holidays on Saturdays and Sundays, the Indian stock exchanges NSE and BSE will be closed for two days in May 2026. The stock market will be closed on Friday, May 1, 2026, which is Maharashtra Day. The stock market will be closed on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in observance of Bakrid/Eid al-Adha.
