State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported robust earnings for the first quarter of the current financial year Q1 FY27), posting a 13.73 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 24,113 crore from Rs 21,201.47 crore in the year-ago period. The public sector lender reported a Rs 19,642.87 crore profit in the preceding March quarter. Meanwhile, SBI share price traded higher on the back of strong Q1 earnings. Last seen, SBI shares were trading at Rs 1,106.50, up 1.98 per cent or Rs 21.50. Meanwhile, it's 52 week high and low values stood at Rs 1,234.70 and Rs 790, respectively.
Earnings Report
According to a regulatory filing, the bank reported a standalone net profit of Rs 21,121.22 crore for the June 2026 quarter, marking a 10.23% year-on-year increase from Rs 19,160.44 crore in the same period last year. During this time, total income climbed to Rs 1.43 lakh crore from Rs 1.35 lakh crore, while total expenditure rose to Rs 1.10 lakh crore compared to Rs 1.04 lakh crore previously.
Regarding asset quality, provisions for non-performing assets (NPAs) dropped to Rs 3,359 crore from Rs 4,934 crore a year prior, although this figure was an increase from the previous quarter's Rs 3,140 crore. The bank's gross NPA ratio saw improvement, reaching 1.47% as of June 30, 2026, down from 1.49% at the end of March and 1.83% a year ago.
