- Gold and silver prices declined globally and domestically.
- COMEX gold fell to $4,457, and silver dropped to $68.095.
- MCX futures for gold and silver also saw significant drops.
Gold and silver prices have remained volatile over the past few sessions, with prices sluggish at market open and then declining further as the evening approaches. The prices of both precious metals declined on Thursday, September 10th, in the global market and the domestic futures market. On COMEX, the gold price fell a bit to trade at the level of $4,457 per ounce; it dipped nearly Rs 100 on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) to a level of Rs 1.53 lakh per 10 grams in early trade.
Downtrend in International Markets
Precious metals faced downward pressure in international trading on COMEX. Gold edged down 0.07% to $4,457.80 per ounce, while silver recorded a sharper decline of 0.80%, falling to $68.095 per ounce.
"COMEX Gold is trading near $4,450, down 0.20%, holding below its 20-EMA, pressured by rising oil prices. Immediate resistance is at $4,500-4,530, and a break above targets the next resistance at $4,600-4,630. Immediate support is at $4,400-4,370 (50/100-day EMA), with next support at $4,300-4,270. RSI at 51, hovering near the neutral 50 and edging lower, points to fading momentum rather than a clean reversal," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.
MCX Gold and Silver Rates
Reflecting global trends, domestic futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) also dropped. Gold declined by Rs 113 to trade at Rs 1,53,690 per 10 grams, while silver slipped by Rs 1,150 around 9:00 AM to reach Rs 2,43,108 per kilogram.
"MCX Gold is trading on a largely flat note, capped below its 20-EMA and its immediate resistance. Immediate resistance is at Rs 154,000-154,700, and a break above targets the next resistance at Rs 156,300-157,000. Immediate support is at Rs 150,700-150,000, with the 100-day EMA acting as an intermediate cushion; a break below this could drag prices toward Rs 148,000," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.
