Adani Enterprises share price rose 6% on September 9th, defying the decline in the stock market. The shares of Adani Group's flagship firm opened flat at Rs 2959.90 on NSE as compared to the last closing of Rs 2,953.10. Adani Enterprises shares picked momentum and reached an intraday high of Rs 3142, up 6.3 per cent from last closing.
The rally in the stock came after Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, signed a shareholders' agreement with investors, including BlackRock, Temasek, Premji Invest, and Alpha Wave, to raise around $1 billion. These institutional investors will acquire up to a 5.54 per cent stake in Adani Airport.
The stock was trading as the top gainer on the Nifty. Meanwhile, Adani Enterprises shares have gained over 35 per cent so far this year, while the Nifty 50 has declined by approximately 10 per cent during the same period.

What Does Rs 9,825 Crore Mean For Adani Airport Holding?
- This fundraising of Rs 9,825 crore, one of the largest initial equity investments by a financial institution in India's airport infrastructure sector.
- According to the firm, the investors have signed binding agreements with AAHL to purchase new equity shares in three tranches, the last of which is expected to be completed by July 2027.
- Once all three tranches are completed, the consortium will hold a total stake of approximately 5.54% in AAHL.
- The proceeds will be used to expand and modernise AAHL's airport infrastructure, create an integrated airport-city ecosystem, and expand its passenger-oriented and non-airline businesses, including ground handling, it said.
- AAHL plans to develop approximately 22 million square feet of mixed-use projects in the first phase of its airport-city development program.
- This investment is expected to increase the platform's capacity to serve approximately 200 million passengers annually, while also boosting commercial revenue and passenger services.
