Gold and silver prices surged on Tuesday amid value-buying momentum following a losing streak over the past few trading sessions. Gold futures, April 2 expiry, jumped Rs 1,200 to hit a high of Rs 1,56,996 per 10 grams in early trade against last session's closing of Rs 1,55,736 on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Similarly, Silver futures, May 5 expiry, rose over Rs 4,900 to an early high of Rs 2,61,457 per kilogram as compared to last session's closing of Rs 2,56,532.
At the time of writing, MCX Silver was trading at Rs 2,60,751, up Rs 4,219 or 1.64 per cent. MCX Gold was quoted at Rs 1,56,785, up Rs 1,049 or 0.67 per cent.
"MCX Gold futures are currently hovering around the Rs 1,56,500–Rs 1,57,500 range, indicating a phase of consolidation or mild profit booking. Strong demand is seen in the Rs 1,55,000–Rs 1,56,000 zone, which continues to act as a key support base," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.

Gold and Silver Rate In International Market
The bullion prices escalated in the international market amid a bit of buying interest. Last seen, COMEX Gold was trading at Rs $5,037.80 per ounce, up $35.6 or 0.71 per cent. COMEX Silver was trading at Rs $82.45, up $1.7 or 2.19 per cent.
24k, 22 K Gold Rate In India
In the domestic retail market, the gold prices inched up a bit on the line of the futures market. The 24 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,58,010 per 10 grams, while the 22 karat gold price today is Rs 1,44,843.
Meanwhile, the 20-carat gold rate in India today is Rs 1,31,675, and the 18-carat price is Rs 1,18,508 per 10 grams.
